'Circle Of Friends'
The Project: I created this illustration for my entry to Coffee by Tate's design competition. The brief was to create a square artwork that would fit on the coffee's packaging and represented Tate's core values, "Wellbeing, Fairness and Gender Equality"

‘Circle of friends’ represents the joining together of different personalities. An inclusive, diverse crowd combining as equal parts to form a perfect circle. I really wanted to create a celebratory, joyful image to reflect Tate’s core values.
I love using animals and mythology to tell stories and illustrate messages I want to share. I decided to combine this with my passion to strip down the typical representations of gender and use characters who are depicted using their personality rather than gender stereotyping.
I wanted to work in Tate’s core value of wellbeing into the colour scheme and settled on a vibrant and warming palette. (Colours I think also compliment a really good coffee)

'Anatomy Of A Beech Tree'
The Client: Majestical
The Project: An animated short illustrating the diversity and importance of an entire ecosystem in even just one tree. My passion for wildlife meant this project was a joy to work on! I was responsible for the main bulk of this project, creating the character designs, backgrounds, and then some After Effects animation.
I aimed for a 'storybook feel' for the style, something bright and optimistic as it was important that this short would appeal to a broad audience.

The Clients: Majestical, Cheshire Wildlife Trust
The Project: Majestical commissioned me to create the storyboard and visual assets for an animated short commissioned by the Cheshire Wildlife Trust. For this project I was responsible for drawing up the storyboard and then the final background designs and characters. The team at Majestical then animated all the assets I created.
I created the characters/ animals with a range of layers for the animation team at Majestical to animate them as a 2d "puppet". The backgrounds were also designed to work as a multilane.
This is a selection of the final animal designs and backgrounds (with a personal mockup of how the characters may look in situ).

The Brief- (Quoted from Henry St Leger's faux brief)
“A pair of characters with the theme ‘Opposites’.
This will be for the 6+ audience, The “programme” will be animated in 2D and we really want a hand drawn old fashioned feel.
The environment will be a plain background. All the action will come from the interaction between the two characters.
Therefore they must be bold, expressive, dynamic and playful. Although they are often ‘opposites’ they are, at the shows core, the best of friends.”

I decided to base the two characters off the sun and moon

The Client: Majestical
The Project: Majestical wanted a number of illustrations to be sold as prints, with each print's profits being donated to a charity.

"Crane Comeback!" was inspired by an optimistic article by the RSPB on the successful return of these fabulous birds to the UK!

The Client: Majestical, Unlock
The Project: Unlock is a charity organisation whose mission is to "help people overcome the long-term disadvantages caused by their criminal records, and work with government, employers and others to enable people to move on positively in their lives". Unlock were looking at joining the "Big Christmas Give" and wanted to share some of their case studies to encourage potential donors to stop scrolling and learn more about Unlock's services.
They commissioned a series of illustrations with subtle animation to add a relatable, human element to the stories they wanted to share.
I lead on this project as Majestical's illustrator and animator, creating a number of designs, incorporating the charity's branding (colour palettes, text style and logo) where appropriate.
The project: Heartbreaker.
This personal project was based off a selection of random song lyrics that I was given, though all illustrations needed to link together to work as a set.
I wanted to show that connection through the colour palette and a recurring theme.
